And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

We have been using a Jesse Tree for advent this year.  The Jesse Tree is an advent method that follows the story of Creation to Christ’s birth.  I love reading the Bible as one seamless story, and the following video is a beautiful way to share it quickly.  As you find yourself with family and friends today and throughout the rest of the holiday season, I would encourage you to memorize this or something similar.  Many people know that Jesus was born, but, I would argue, few truly know the whole story.

As we now look forward to the New Year, I want you to join me in a challenge.  I know, you probably already feel like you have a million goals and challenges, but this one doesn’t require “doing” anything extra.  I’ve talked before about finding myself mentally bored with being a stay at home mom.  One way I sought entertainment was through my phone.

Do you find yourself constantly checking your phone during the day?  Do you feel like your child knows the back of your phone better than your own face?  I would encourage you to prayerfully consider taking this 30-day challenge with me.  Subscribe to Rapt Motherhood (you can do that at the bottom of this post) to receive access to the subscriber freebie page with the free challenge plan, tips, and Bible verses to meditate on.  This is the perfect time of the year to check your habits and turn your focus back to Christ.  Like I said, this challenge doesn’t require you to do anything new, in fact, it should leave you with more time during your day as you slowly reduce the amount of time you spend on your phone.

I’ve explained more of my intention behind this as well as encouraged you to have the right heart when pursuing spiritual goals and disciplines in this post.  Be sure to subscribe to stay up to date on blog posts and receive Rapt Motherhood newsletters.
